1500 seats of B.Tech, MBA and B.Des vacant in AKTU


AKTU BTech: 1500 seats of B.Tech, MBA and B.Des are left vacant in KTU. Seats could not be filled even in B.Tech or BE and BPharma second year. AKTU has issued notification for the vacant seats of affiliated government and government self-financed colleges under the academic session 2024-25.

1500 seats of B.Tech, MBA and B.Des are left vacant in AKTU. Seats could not be filled even in B.Tech or BE and BPharma second year. AKTU had organized a special round of counseling for the vacant seats of affiliated government and government self-financed colleges under the academic session 2024-25. In view of this, registration was done from 11 to 16 October for B.Tech, MBA, MCA and MCA lateral entry from CUET PG and B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Des, BHMCT, BPharma and B.Tech lateral entry from CUET UG through JEE. After this, counseling and seat allotment was done on 18th and 22nd October respectively. In which only 26 candidates took admission in B.Tech, two in MBA and only four candidates took admission in B.Tech and BPharm through lateral entry. Due to this, about 1300 seats of B.Tech, 139 seats of MBA and 131 seats of B.Des remained vacant. Similarly, 35 seats for BPharma and BE or B.Tech second year also could not be filled.

Civil, Mechanical along with Electronics seats not filled. Most of the vacant seats in B.Tech course are from Civil, Mechanical along with Electronics and Electrical streams. According to experts, for the last several years, students are showing less inclination towards these streams. Due to which their seats are not being filled in government engineering colleges, government and government self-financed colleges. The main reason behind this is also regarding placement. Due to which seats are not being filled.

Students believe that they do not get good packages in these streams. Besides, today's demand has also become quite different. Due to which Computer Science, IT, AI, Machine Learning are becoming the first choice of students.
