UKPSC PCS Prelims 2024: Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has postponed the PCS Pre Exam. While changing the date of PCS Pre Exam, the Commission has said that now this exam will be conducted not on 7th July but on 14th July. Now the Commission has changed the exam date due to unavoidable reasons. The Commission had released the date of PCS-Pre exam on July 7 in its examination calendar. Under Uttarakhand PCS Recruitment 2024, there will be recruitment on 189 posts including Deputy Collector and DSP. This time the vacancies include 9 posts of Deputy Collector, 17 posts of DSP, 5 posts of District Commandant (Home Guards), 16 posts of Assistant Commissioner, State Tax. Out of total 189 vacancies, 105 posts are unreserved. 35 posts are reserved for SC, 6 posts for ST and 28 posts for OBC and 15 for EWS category.

Asked for answer from Public Service Commission
The High Court has ordered the State Public Service Commission to submit its reply within a week regarding conducting the PCS examination. Gadarpur resident Harendra Singh and Dehradun resident Gulfam have said in the PIL that the State Public Service Commission has conducted competitive examinations six times for the vacant posts of PCS since the formation of the state. The result of the 2016 examination was declared by the commission in 2019. After that the Commission did not issue any release for the examination. Now when the release was issued, the Commission is not accepting his applications due to his old age. It was said in the petition that they should be given a chance to appear in this examination.
