Akshat Pangaria, who lives near Aryaman Vikram Birla School of Learning in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has scored 100% marks (99.99 percentile) in his first attempt in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), an undergraduate course in medicine. Akshat has scored 720 out of 720 marks. He was preparing for NEET for two years. Akshat is originally from Patal village in Champawat district. His father Dr. GB Pangaria is a doctor in Kichha hospital while his mother Sonu Pangaria is a housewife. Akshat said that he wants to become a doctor and serve in the hill hospitals. Akshat used to do self study for five to six hours along with coaching from a private institute in Haldwani. Nikhil Hadiya, group head of his institute, has claimed that this is the first time in Uttarakhand that a student has scored full 720 marks in NEET.

67 candidates got 99.99 percentile in NEET-UG
The National Examination Agency (NTA) on Tuesday declared the results of the medical entrance exam NEET (Graduate). 67 candidates have topped the exam with 99.99 percent marks. NTA said that 14 girls are also among the top rankers and a total of 56.4 percent candidates have passed the exam. This exam was conducted on May 5. A senior NTA official said that the merit list will be prepared using the tie-breaking formula. In this, preference will be given to those who get higher marks or percentage in Biology. After that, preference will be given to Chemistry and Physics. Then in the exam, preference will be given to candidates with a lower ratio of the number of wrong answers and correct answers in all subjects or Biology, followed by Chemistry and Physics. Out of the 67 toppers, the highest number of 11 are from Rajasthan, followed by eight from Tamil Nadu and seven from Maharashtra. This year 24.06 lakh candidates had registered.
