Now admission in polytechnics across Uttar Pradesh will not be given just by appearing in the entrance exam. The Board of Technical Education has changed its rules and decided that those who get zero marks in the Polytechnic Entrance Exam will not get admission. In Uttar Pradesh, there are about 1400 polytechnics run by government, subsidized, private and PPP model in which admission is taken on two lakh 28 seats. Till now every candidate appearing in the entrance exam used to get admission, but by changing the admission process of the new session 2024-25, steps have been taken to improve polytechnic education. Under which, if a student appears in the admission process and gets zero marks, then that student will not be eligible for admission. In this regard, Principal Secretary of Board of Technical Education M Devraj has issued orders.
The entrance exam question paper will consist of 100 questions
For admission in the state government, aided, public private partnership and private polytechnics in the upcoming session
Applications will be accepted from 8 January to 29 February. 53 days will be given for application. After which entrance examination will be held in all the cities of the state. The entrance examination question paper will have 100 multiple choice questions. There will be no negative marking in the entrance examination. Four marks will be given for each correct answer. The date of the entrance examination is yet to be announced.
The admit card for the Polytechnic entrance exam can be downloaded after entering the Aadhaar number. The admit card will be downloaded from the website of the Joint Education Council. JEECUP entrance exam is conducted for admission to diploma courses in UP Polytechnic Institutes.
In online application, the application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs 200 and for others it is Rs 300. The main counselling will be done in three phases and special counselling will be done from the fourth phase.
