The Department of Education (DOE) had received reports that students were not given admission in schools due to lack of Aadhar card and bank details. After this, the Department of Education (DOE) has issued a circular regarding admission of class IX to X in government and cooperative schools.
According to the circular, no student will be denied admission after being allotted a school under the non-plan admission process except in cases of lack of relevant documents. As per the Right to Education Act (RTE), children up to class VIII will be given admission in age-appropriate classes for the entire academic session.
The circular also states that students will not be denied admission for not having Aadhaar and bank account. For students who were allotted schools during the previous phases of the non-plan admission process, the admission process should be completed by September 16, 2024. Also, the criteria for admission in age-appropriate classes will not apply to students who have passed the previous class from a recognized school or board during the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Department of Education (DOE) has also said in the circular that transfers after the half-yearly examinations (mid-semester exams) should be avoided, but in genuine cases, transfers can be done by the Zonal or District Grievance Redressal Committee.
