After discussions with the Department of Personnel and Training, the Railway Ministry also wrote to the UPSC Chairman and the Telecom Department on Saturday that it has been decided to recruit officers through IRMS now through CSE and ESE. It also said that the Ministry of Telecommunications will be the nodal ministry for ESE, which will notify rules for it and invite applications by October 8. It has also been requested to the Telecom Ministry and UPSC that UPSC will allow participation by adding the recruitment of 225 engineers in the existing notification.
According to the letter, now the new recruitment will be called IRMS Civil, IRMS Mechanical, IRMS Electrical, IRMS (S&T) and IRMS Stores. Railway officials say that in this way this decision is nothing but returning to the old system.
