Aam Admi Party National Convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced the scholarship in the name of Dr Bimrao Ambedkar for Dalit students who wish to pursue higher education. Kejriwal's announcement comes ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections that are due in February next year.
If AAP returns to power in Delhi, under the Dr Ambedakar scholarship, the Delhi government will fund the higher education of Dalit students covering costs like transportation and lodging after students secure admission to a university in India or abroad.
