After the first phase of counselling of NEET UG, a big fraud has come to light in the admission process. Some candidates who got seats allotted for admission in private minority colleges submitted fake minority category certificates. On the basis of this fake certificate, they got admission at the nodal centre. All the cases are of private medical colleges of Meerut. But the matter came to light. So far 20 such cases have come to light. Director General Medical Education and Training Kinjal Singh got the certificates verified by the concerned District Magistrates in this matter, and they turned out to be fake. Seven left the seat on their own and the rest of the admissions have been cancelled by the Director General.
The first phase of counselling of NEET UG-2024 is over. Most of the candidates have also taken admission in the allotted colleges. Meanwhile, nine children who applied for the second phase of counselling described themselves as Buddhists. When doubts arose about this, the Director General got the caste certificates investigated. Meanwhile, complaints of admission with fake certificates were also received in some private minority medical colleges.
He issued an order and made it clear that caste certificates will be investigated. Whoever is found to be fake, his admission will be cancelled and legal action will be taken.
