The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has withdrawn the MBBS seats allotted to students at Kanyakumari Medical Mission Research Center for the academic session 2024-25. The Medical Selection Committee has withdrawn the MBBS seat allotment of this private university. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed the state government not to take admissions under the current counseling in this medical college till further orders. The NMC had allowed admission to 100 MBBS seats at Kanyakumari Medical Mission Research Center for the academic year 2024-25, which has now been stopped.
According to a report in the Times of India, the state government will adjust five government school students who got admission under the 7.5 per cent quota in other medical colleges. The provisional admission given to 95 other students has been withdrawn. “We have ordered to give place to five government school students in other medical colleges under the 7.5 per cent government quota. We will accommodate them in other colleges. The number of seats will be adjusted next year,” the official said, according to the report. The round 1 allotment result of the remaining 95 seats under state quota and management quota has been cancelled. Of the 100 seats in the medical college, 60 are under government quota, 30 under management and five under 7.5 per cent government quota.

After this, the state government released the revised allotment result after withdrawing 100 seats from the seat matrix.
The NMC on Friday informed the state government that the private university had filed an application to set up a new medical college. It was granted permission on August 10 to take MBBS admissions for 100 seats. Meanwhile, a petition has been filed by Michael Builder and Developer Pvt Ltd against the medical college's land claim. The company has also attached the district court to it.
The NMC said it has put on hold the permission letter given to the medical college for admission to 100 MBBS seats.
