NEET PG Topper: 25-year-old Dr. Hamsavaradhini V of Bangalore is on cloud nine. Hamsavaradhini V, who won 48 gold medals and prizes in the recent convocation ceremony held at the country's leading medical institute, Christian Medical College, has secured 7th rank in the NEET PG examination. The result of this entrance examination for admission in post graduate medical courses like MD, MS, DNB, Diploma courses was released by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on Saturday. Hamsavaradhini V studied at National Public School in Indiranagar. After cracking NEET UG with excellent marks in the year 2016, she took admission in the MBBS course of the country's third best medical college, Christian Medical College (CMC). In CMC, along with NEET score, performance in an aptitude test is also considered, which is organized by the institute itself. CMC is ranked third in the NIRF ranking of medical colleges of the Government of India.
According to the news of Times of India, after completing the MBBS course in May 2022, Hamsa is serving in the institute under a mandatory bond of two years. After her success, Hamsa said, 'In the year 2021, my duty was in Pediatric Oncology. Due to the busy schedule, I did not get time to study. In the second year of the bond, I was in Neuro Trauma ICU. Here I had to work for 48 hours to 60 hours every week. I used to get two days off, which I took full advantage of.'
Hamsa now hopes to get an internal medicine course at CMC. She said, 'By joining the medicine line, I will be able to serve more people. It covers every part of our body. I like the scope of it. I would like to specialize in hematology. Post graduation in internal medicine will help me in this.'
Hamsa was very interested in biology since childhood. His interest and passion to become a doctor made the path ahead easy. He said, 'My grandmother died due to a heart disease. If we had got that disease treated on time, she might have survived. After this incident, I made up my mind to become a doctor.' Hamsa still has to serve six more weeks as per the bond period.

Individual Score Card on 30th August 2024
The individual score card of candidates appearing in NEET PG 2024 will be released on 30 August 2024 at nbe.edu.in. The merit position for 50% All India Quota seats will be declared separately. The final merit list/category wise list for state quota seats will be prepared by the States/UTs as per their qualification/eligibility criteria, applicable guidelines and reservation policy.
NEET PG exam was conducted in 185 cities of the country on 11 August 2024 in two shifts. 2 lakh 38 thousand students were registered in this exam. Through NEET PG exam, students will be given admission in 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 13,649 Master of Surgery, 992 PG Diploma and 1,338 DNB CET seats.
