The process of online application for Bihar Head Teacher and Principal Recruitment has started today from 11th March. Applications can be made by visiting bpsc.nic.in or onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in for recruitment to 40247 posts of head teachers and 6061 posts of principals released by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The last date of application for both the recruitments is 2 April 2024. 10081 posts are unreserved in the vacancies of head teacher recruitment (BPSC Bihar Pradhan Shikshak Bharti 2024). 4028 posts are reserved for Economically Weaker Section, 8041 for Scheduled Caste, 808 for Scheduled Tribe, 10056 for Extremely Backward Class and 7245 for Backward Class. Keep in mind that those who have already completed the online application process by paying the fees for the advertisement number 04/2022 published earlier for head teacher recruitment, will complete the process of registration afresh from the same mobile number. OTP will be sent to that mobile number for verification, due to which they will be exempted from paying again, they will directly fill the online application.

Know 10 special things related to recruitment
1. Qualification –
Any teacher can participate in this examination as long as he has at least 8 years of teaching experience in government primary schools.

2. Teachers facing disciplinary action will not be included in this examination. At the same time, such teachers who have been promoted will also not be included.

3. Age Limit – Must be 58 years of age or less as on August 1, 2024.

4. Salary
Head teachers will get an initial salary of Rs 30,500. Apart from this, the salary will be increased at the time of salary revision done from time to time by the state government.

5. Selection- Selection will be based on written examination. There will be no interview.

6. Pattern of written examination
The question paper will be divided into two parts. There will be 75 questions each in the first part and 75 questions in the second part. The entire paper will be of two and a half hours. There will be a General Studies paper in the first part. This includes primary mathematics, mental ability, national and international events, general science, Indian national movement, geography, Indian politics etc.

In Part-2, there will be examination for D.El.Ed subject. Syllabus can be seen from BPSC website. The written examination will be objective and multiple choice based. Each question will be of one mark.

7. There is no provision of negative marking for wrong answers.

8. According to the rules, there will be a separate cadre of head teachers. Their post will be transferable. There will be transfers both inside and outside the district.

9. Application Fee
General/OBC/Other State: 750/-
SC / ST / Divyang : 200/-
Female Candidates (Bihar Resident): Rs 200/-
Pay the examination fee through online/offline fee mode only.

10. Exemption from fees for applicants who have already applied.

11. Recruitment of 6061 head teachers

Out of 6061 posts of Principal in higher secondary schools, 1340 posts are unreserved. 576 are reserved for EWS, 1283 SC, 128 ST, 1595 for Extremely Backward Class and 1139 for Backward Class. For this also, candidates will be able to apply online from March 11. The last date to apply has been fixed as 2 April 2024.

12. Qualification for the post of Principal
Must have passed post graduation with at least 50% marks. 5% relaxation will be given in the minimum marks for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Extremely Backward Class, Backward Class, Disabled Women and Economically Weaker Section. Must have passed B.Ed, B.Ed or B.Sc.Ed from a recognized institute. Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test for teachers appointed in the year 2012 or later.


13. Experience related qualification
Must have minimum 8 years of continuous service on the post of secondary teacher in a state government school under a Panchayati Raj institution and a municipal body institution. Minimum 12 years of continuous service in the post of secondary education in a school having temporary affiliation from CBSE, ICSE, BSEB. Must have minimum 4 years of continuous service on the post of higher secondary teacher in a state government school under a Panchayati Raj institution and a municipal body institution. Must have minimum 10 years of continuous service on the post of higher secondary education in a school having temporary affiliation from CBSE, ICSE, BSEB. This period will be calculated on the basis of date of contribution or date of attaining training qualification, whichever is later.

14. Experience of work in CBSE schools will also be included in the appointment. This change has been made in the appointment of headmaster in upgraded and newly established higher secondary schools. Different years and conditions have been prescribed regarding experience. The work experience of the employed teachers will be added in the calculation of service. Service from 4 to 12 years will be counted in this.

15. If you have taught in CBSE and government school, that experience will also be added. Regarding this, Director of Secondary Education, Education Department, Kanhaiya Prasad Srivastava has written a letter to the Secretary of Bihar Public Service Commission.

1. If higher secondary teachers appointed under Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Body Institution have been appointed to the post of school teacher of class 11-12, then the period of local body can also be added in the calculation of minimum continuous service of four years.
2. If the secondary teacher appointed under Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Body Institution has been appointed to the post of school teacher of class 9-10, then the period of local body can also be added in the calculation of minimum continuous service of eight years.

3. If the secondary teacher appointed under Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Body Institution has been appointed to the post of school teacher of class 11-12, then the period of local body can also be added in the calculation of minimum continuous service of eight years.
4. Must have worked on the post of secondary teacher in schools recognized by CBSE, ICSE, BCEB and later on the post of school teacher by Panchayati Raj, Municipal Body Institution, Bihar Public Service Commission in secondary (9-10), higher secondary (11-12) ) In case of working as a school teacher, the minimum period of 12 years will be considered by adding together the experience period of both types of schools.

5. Must have been working on the post of higher secondary teacher in CBSE, ICSE recognized schools and later on working on the post of higher secondary (11-12) school teacher by Panchayati Raj, Municipal Body Institution, Bihar Public Service Commission. In such a situation, the minimum period of 10 years will be considered by adding together the experience period of both types of schools.
