BPSC TRE 3.0 Cancelled: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has canceled the third phase teacher recruitment examination of both the shifts held on March 15. The Commission took this decision due to the paper being leaked. BPSC has said that the new date of the exam will be announced later. Angered by the paper leak, the candidates were demanding cancellation of the examination for the past several days. A continuous campaign for this was being run on social media. The angry candidates had also warned of a big agitation on Thursday, March 21, for which they had started reaching Patna from Wednesday itself.
Based on the investigation by the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU), the decision to cancel the exam has been taken. It is noteworthy that on the morning of March 15, about 300 candidates were caught solving the paper in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. BPSC had sought concrete evidence related to the paper leak from EOU. At the beginning of the investigation, the Commission had also said that no concrete evidence was found in the EOU report which could prove that the question paper was leaked even before the commencement of the examination.
The paper was leaked even before the exam
EOU investigation found that the question paper of BPSC TRE 3.0 held on March 15 was leaked from the Kolkata-based printing press itself. Vishal Kumar Chaurasia, the mastermind arrested in this case, had got the paper out with the help of some employees of the printing press along with his other associates. Even before the printing of the paper was completed, it was brought in the pen drive and was brought out and printed. For this reason it does not have a security code or bar code. EOU investigation had revealed that there was no bar coding or security code on the leaked question paper. From this it became clear that the papers were out even before they were printed in the press.
Earlier, at around 5 am on the exam date, March 15, an intensive raid was conducted with the help of Jharkhand Police in Kohinoor Hotel and Marriage Hall located at Kurra, Padma and Barhi in Hazaribagh. During this time, it was found that apart from many rooms of hotels, more than 270 candidates were being made to memorize the answers to the question paper by making them sit in the marriage hall. The question papers seized from the spot were matched with the question papers received from the BPSC office, which were found to be identical. That means the question papers had already reached the setters before being distributed in the examination.
