BTech, JEE Main: Despite a great performance in JEE Main, there are thousands of students whose dream of studying in IIT has been shattered. These students will not be able to appear for JEE Advanced because their marks in the 12th board exam are less than 75 percent. According to the rules, to get admission in prestigious institutions like IIT and NIT, one must have at least 75 percent marks in the 12th board exam (65 percent for SC, ST and Divyang) or one should be among the top 20 percentile candidates in the respective board exam result. But those who have scored less than 75 percent marks need not be disappointed. There are many top engineering colleges in the country where the 75 percent marks criteria of 12th does not apply. The NIRF ranking of these institutions is also good.

Students who score less than 75% marks in 12th board exam can get admission in IIIT Delhi, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore on the basis of JEE Main score. Apart from IIIT, there are many private engineering institutes which are giving admission to students in B.Tech without 75% criteria.
