Amid reports of low placements in the country's Indian Institutes of Technology, the capital's Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT) has released its placement figures for 2024. More than 85 percent of the students have been placed in the institute. Here it is about 10 percent less than last year. The institute says that this year is full of economic uncertainties and challenges of getting a job all over the world. Despite these difficulties, IIIT-Delhi once again ensured successful placement of students due to its excellence in the field of education and good contacts in the industry. 113 companies participated in this year's placement drive, which included major companies of the country and abroad as well as some startups.

These companies collectively offered 677 jobs, including 548 full-time and 129 internship opportunities. The total placement was 85.98 percent. In this, 84 percent of the students got jobs for BTech and 89 percent for MTech. On an average, the students got an annual salary of Rs 20 lakh. Let us tell you that in 2023, more than 96 percent of campus placements took place.

Despite the challenging economic conditions, our graduates have secured important positions in many companies, which is a proof of the talent our students have and the trust the industry has in our institute. – Dr. Ranjan Bose, Director, IIIT-Delhi

There are many international factors like war, global recession, political instability etc. which directly affect placements. Moreover, our placements have been better than many IITs. We have got 89% placement in MTech.
– Rashmika Mishra, General Manager, Placement, Corporate Relations
