The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the Science Paper today i.e. on 2 March. The two-hour exam will begin at 10.30 am-1.30 pm. As per the CBSE, this year, more than 39 lakh students from India and 26 other countries are appearing for the CBSE board exams. As you have already prepared yourself for the Science paper today, we have jotted down some last-minute tips for students.
Here are some last minute tips
-Ahead of the exams, always check the marking scheme a question carries in the question paper which will help you prioritize how much you need to write for a particular question.
-Revise the notes you have prepared as it is easy for you to understand.
-Do not learn anything new as it will only panic you, focus on what you know
-Take a look at the Sample papers uploaded by the board on its official website. You don't need to write, just read the questions and solve them in mind.
-The board has also provided the solution to the sample question paper along with the corresponding marks assigned which will help students understand the allocation of marks for their responses.
Meanwhile, CBSE is planning a pilot run of Open-Book Exams (OBE) in selected schools for classes 9 to 12 later this year. The idea was floated in the last governing body meeting of CBSE Board in December, 2023. Officials, however, said there is no plan to adopt the format in class 10 and 12 board exams. In an open-book exam, students are allowed to carry their notes, textbooks, or other study materials and refer to them during the exam. The pilot will be focused on assessing higher-order thinking skills, application, analysis, critical and creative thinking, and problem solving abilities. While the design, development, and review of Open Book Tests is proposed to be completed by June 2024, the pilot testing of the materials in schools is being planned in November-December 2024.
The CBSE had previously experimented with an Open Text-Based Assessment (OTBA) format for the year-end exams of Classes 9 and 11 for three years from 2014-15 to 2016-17, but it was scrapped based on negative feedback from stakeholders.
