CBSE Warning: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked affiliated schools to beware of a fake sports organization. CBSE has warned that an institution is organizing sports using the name of the board. In a notice issued by the board today, it has been said that an Agra-based organization 'CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society' (CBSE-WSO) is misusing the name of CBSE to stage sports events and participate in sports competitions organized by SGFI and other sports bodies.
The notice said that CBSE has been affiliated to the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) from July 08 (as per SGFI letter no. 994/SGFI/2024-25 dated 08.07.2024). From 2024-25, the winners of the CBSE National Games will participate in the SGFI National School Games organised by SGFI every year.
CBSE has exposed the misuse of CBSE's name by an Agra-based organisation called 'CBSE-WSO'. This organisation is organising sports events and encouraging CBSE schools to participate in them. Many schools have participated in these events unknowingly.

Legal action initiated
CBSE has no connection with the organization named 'CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society' (CBSE-WSO), Agra (UP). This organization is misusing the name of CBSE. CBSE has started legal action against this organization.
CBSE said keep checking the website
Schools are advised not to associate with the said organisation or participate in any sports event organised by it as it is not affiliated to CBSE. Any school found participating in events organised by the organisation will face disciplinary action. CBSE has asked schools to report suspicious organisations to the board. Affiliated schools have been requested to confirm any links on the board's website.
