The delay in the CUET UG result has put the admission process in various universities of the country, including Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). In view of the situation, various universities of the national capital, including DU and JNU, have planned to shorten weekend classes and winter vacations to bring the calendar back on track. The NTA is going to conduct re-exams for more than 1,000 CUET UG candidates on July 19 after complaints from candidates, including issues such as wastage of time due to distribution of wrong question papers. However, the examination agency has not given any clarification regarding the result date. The CUET result was scheduled to be released on June 30. But it has been delayed by more than two weeks. The final answer key of the undergraduate entrance exam has not been released yet.
A senior JNU official said the delay in the declaration of CUET results would badly affect the university's plan to release a uniform academic calendar for all batches of students. The official said the university would have to rely on extra classes on Saturdays and may have to cut short the winter vacation to make up for the time lost in completing the course.
The official said, “Instead of five days a week, we will have to teach six days a week. To complete the course, classes will have to be held on Saturdays. If needed, we will also consider shortening the winter vacation.”
To bring uniformity in the admission process of all batches, JNU had planned to release a uniform academic calendar for all batches from this year. This system was discontinued due to the challenges faced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Things will become clear once the result dates are announced,”
