Delhi University PhD admission 2024: If you are planning to do PhD, then you should be aware of the guidelines issued by Delhi University (DU). Let us tell you, DU has decided to use the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) score for admission to the PhD program for the academic session 2024-25. As per the decision, the NET marks of candidates in Category 2 and Category 3 will be valid for one year for taking admission in PhD programme. According to the guidelines issued by DU, students are eligible for admission to three categories JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), Assistant Professor and PhD program on the basis of their UGC NET score.
In the notification from DU, it has been said, 'Admissions in PhD will be based on the score of National Eligibility Test (NET). Whereas DU can conduct separate examination for those subjects for which UGC NET is not conducted, like Portuguese, Italian, Engineering etc. Information Bulletin for PhD Admission for the academic session 2024-25 will be uploaded soon on the University website admission.uod.ac.in.
DU has approved the UGC admission rules from this session. According to the instructions, students doing JRF will be able to apply directly for PhD admission and will also be eligible to apply for Assistant Professor. Admission to PhD of students who have done JRF will be 100 percent based on interview. Candidates who have appeared for the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be given 70 percent weightage to NET score and 30 percent weightage to interview for PhD admission and appointment as Assistant Professor.
