DU Admission 2024: Admission is going on in 46 central universities of the country on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores, if seats remain vacant even after 3-4 rounds of counseling in any central university, then some concessions will be applied to fill the seats. UGC has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to fill these vacant seats.
With this guideline of UGC, students can get admission in 46 central universities including DU on the basis of 12th marks. After the announcement made by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh has also announced that the university can conduct its own entrance test if seats remain vacant after admission through CUET score or can give admission to students on the basis of marks in the qualifying exam.
This rule of UGC will be applicable in 46 central universities including DU.
According to the SOP issued by UGC, the university can relax the subject criteria in CUET if seats are still vacant after 3-4 rounds of counselling of CUET.
If even after this the seats remain vacant, then the university can also conduct its own entrance exam.
Apart from this, universities can also give admission for graduation courses including BA, BCom and BSc on the basis of 12th board qualifying exam marks.
Similarly, admission in PG courses can also be done on the basis of marks obtained in graduation.
UGC has said in the SOP that reservation roster will also be applicable in all courses and programs, in which the university will have to take responsibility of completing the course of those students who get admission late.
Let us tell you that only those students will be able to apply for admission to the vacant seats of Central University who have not got admission even after the third or fourth round of counseling. The application of those students who have got admission through CUET will not be valid. UGC says that the purpose of giving concession in the main criteria CUET exam of Central University is to fill the vacant seats. Universities will have to try to fill the seats of every course by adopting the SOP issued by UGC.
