Govind Jaiswal was born in Banaras. He did his schooling from a government school. After that he did his graduation in Mathematics from Harishchandra University of Banaras. Govind's father used to drive a rickshaw to support his family. His mother died in his childhood due to brain hemorrhage. His father spent all his savings to get his mother treated. His father raised Govind and his sisters with great difficulty.
Once in his childhood, Govind went to his friend's place to play. There, when his friend's father came to know that Govind's father drives a rickshaw, he insulted Govind a lot. He even forbade his son from playing with Govind and being friends with him. After this, he went to his teacher in school and asked him what he should do so that people respect him in the society. His teacher told him to become a big businessman or an IAS officer when he grows up. From then on, Govind decided that he would become an IAS officer when he grows up.
Govind came to Delhi to prepare for UPSC. His father used to send him a few rupees every month for expenses, at that time his father used to drive a rickshaw despite having septic in his legs. Govind knew that his father was working very hard, so along with his preparation, he also taught tuition to children.
It is said that 'where there is a will, there is a way', Govind Jaiswal has proved this story true. He passed the UPSC exam in his first attempt in 2007. His all India rank was 48. Let us tell you that a film has also been made on the life of Govind Jaiswal, named 'Ab Dilli Aur Door Nahi'. This film was released in 2023. Govind Jaiswal's story is an inspiration for everyone who does not let circumstances become an obstacle in the way of their victory.
