It will take two to three years for studies to start in 9 new medical colleges in Bihar. Studies are likely to start in Samastipur Medical College from next year. An application will be made to NMC (National Medical Council) to start MBBS studies here from the session 2025-26. Along with the application, arrangements will be made here from laboratory to faculty so that the medical college can meet all the standards in the inspection of the NMC team. The principal of the college will apply for recognition.
Preparations are also underway to start studies soon in Saran Medical College. It will take two to three years for studies to start in the medical colleges of Begusarai, Bhojpur, Buxar, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Siwan and Jamui. After the opening of nine new medical college hospitals, the number of medical colleges in the state will increase to 20. 100 seats will increase in each new medical college hospital. The new medical college hospitals will have 500 beds each. Let us tell you that 8 medical college hospitals are to be started in the state under the central government's scheme. In the first phase, medical college hospitals are to be started in Purnia, Saran and Samastipur.
Under phase two, medical college hospitals will be started in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Siwan, Buxar and Jamui.
