On a petition challenging the conditions and rules related to caste certificate in JSSC and JPSC examinations, the full bench of the High Court on Thursday directed to issue notice to those candidates whose appointment may be affected by the order in this case. The court has also given instructions to issue general information for this. The next hearing of the case will be on June 27. The full bench of the High Court is hearing three points related to the caste certificate. The three points that this bench has for hearing include – whether the caste certificate should be in the format prescribed by JPSC or JSSC only.

Whether the caste certificate issued after the last date given in the advertisement will be valid or not. Whether the order given by the Supreme Court in the case of Ram Kumar Jijoria will be applicable in such a case or not. The division bench of Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar had fixed three points in this case and sent it for hearing in a larger bench. In this regard, 43 petitions have been filed including that of Dr. Nutan Indwar.

It has been said in the petition that the requirement of issuing caste certificate till the last date of advertisement issued for JSSC or JPSC examination is not correct. Apart from this, it is also wrong to impose the condition that caste certificate will be issued only from the level of SDO or DC. On behalf of JPSC, Prince Singh and Rakesh Chaudhary told the court that in one such case, the Supreme Court had said that it is necessary to have the caste certificate by the last date of advertisement. In this case, the larger bench of the Supreme Court has given its verdict.
