Kannauj Schools Launch Career Hubs To Guide Students With Their Choices After Class 12

There are many schools across the country which are taking active initiative to provide better education to their students. According to reports, government secondary schools in Kannauj have taken the initiative to establish a special career hub in schools to guide the students in choosing the perfect career for themselves. A total of 19 government secondary schools in the district will have this facility installed. Each school will have a designated nodal teacher to manage the operations of these hubs.

The main objective of making this career hub is to engage with students, know about their career interests and encourage them to pursue careers in their desired fields. The reports further stated that parents will also be invited to discuss their children's skills and interests. It will also help the parents to stay informed about the career choice of their child.

Students often start worrying about their career choices during their school days. To ease this process, the Department of Secondary Education has initiated a plan to designate a classroom as a career hub in every government school. The department will also appoint nodal teachers to oversee the operations of the initiative. The career hub will include a question box and other resources to guide students. Adding to it, career fairs will also be organized at the school, district and state levels.

A team will be reportedly formed to manage the requirements of the hub, which will include the principal who will be the president of the team, a nodal teacher who will act as a secretary, Two parents (one male and one female) of the top -performing students from grades 9 and 11 and four students as members.

While speaking to Local 18, District School Inspector Puran Singh mentioned that the career hub will greatly benefit students. The main aim is to make the students aware of various career options based on their interests, provide guidance, connect them with employment opportunities and assist them in career selection.
