Bhagat Singh Birthday, Facts about Bhagat Singh: Today is the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, who happily sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country. The great revolutionary Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in village Baoli in district Lyallpur (now in Faisalabad, Pakistan). 1. Bhagat Singh was born in Banga of Laipur district in Punjab province on September 28, 1907 to father Kishan Singh and mother Vidyawati. This place is now in Pakistan. Bhagat Singh's grandmother named him Bhagaan Wala (one of good fortune), later he came to be known as Bhagat Singh.

2. Bhagat Singh's father Kishan Singh, uncle Ajit Singh and Swaran Singh were freedom fighters. Bhagat Singh studied at DAV High School, Lahore.
