The first way you can join is through the National Defense Academy (NDA) examination. This examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year. Then they will be transferred to the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) for flying training. – Men and women can join Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) through National Cadet Corps (NCC). Let us tell you, candidates who have obtained Air Wing Senior Division 'C' certificate of NCC can apply for the flying branch of AFA.
– Male candidates can also apply to Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) through Combined Defense Services Examination (CDSE). CDSE examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year. Cadets selected for training at the Indian Air Force Academy are trained as fighter pilots, helicopter pilots or transport pilots.
– Male and female candidates can join Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). This examination is also conducted twice a year in February and August.
