A differently-abled student from Maharashtra's Latur district has scored 78 per cent marks by writing his Class 12 exams with his feet. The student aspires to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Gaus Sheikh, a science stream student, refused to take the help of a test scribe and wrote the answers with his toes during the Class 12 exams held in March. Gaus was born without hands. The exam results were declared earlier this week.
Hailing from a small village, 17-year-old Gaus completed his schooling at Renukadevi Higher Secondary Ashram School in Vasantnagar Tanda, where his father works as a Class IV employee. Gaus' father Amjad said, 'Gaus started writing numbers and letters at the age of four. His primary teachers made him practice writing with his toes. Gaus completes his exam writing work in the time given to normal students.'
Gaus said, 'Since childhood I have dreamt of serving my country, so I want to become an IAS officer.'
How was the Maharashtra Board 12th result
Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board declared the result of class 12th on 21st May. This year 93.37 percent students passed in class 12th. The pass percentage of girls was 95.44 percent while the pass percentage of boys was 91.60 percent. Konkan region once again topped with 97.91 percent result. On the other hand, the pass percentage of students of Mumbai region was 91.95 percent, which is the lowest in all divisions of Maharashtra Board.
Over 1.9 lakh students have got distinction in Maharashtra Board 12th result.
