Doctors of the medicine department of the medical college will be given training to save the lives of patients during disasters. This has been instructed by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Doctors of the medicine department will be given training on how to treat any patient injured in an accident. After this, along with surgery, doctors of the medicine department will also be able to treat patients in emergency services. NMC has proposed to open emergency medicine departments in medical colleges and start MD in Emergency Medicine course. SKMCH Principal Prof. Dr. Abha Rani Sinha said that the head of the department will be discussed about opening emergency medicine in SKMCH also.
Information about equipment will also be available
Doctors of the medicine department will also be given training in medical colleges to operate the equipment used in emergency situations. If a patient is seriously injured in an accident, what steps are to be taken to save his life, if the patient has to be referred then how will he be referred. Along with this, medico-legal information will also be given.
Will also learn the tricks of human resource management
Doctors will also be taught the tricks of human resource management. How to manage personnel with equipment in case of any emergency will be explained in the training. Apart from this, doctors will also be told about Basil and Advanced Life Support System, National Disaster Life Support System, Advanced Disaster Life Support System. Leadership capabilities will also be developed among the doctors of the medicine department to deal with emergency situations. So that they can decide the duty schedule in the hospital, information about this will also be given in this training.
The patient will also be psychologically stabilized
NMC has said that the doctors of the medicine department will not only treat serious patients but will also stabilize them psychologically. In emergency situation the patient remains very restless. Therefore, the first task of the doctors will be to calm the patient mentally. In this training, information will also be given regarding developing decision making ability of doctors. Doctors will be told to first get information about the pre-existing diseases of the serious patient and then provide complete treatment.
