The study of Masters (PG) course in Defense Technology has been started in National Institute of Technology (NIT Jamshedpur) from this session. Recently, the Senate of NIT had given its approval to this course and authorized the Director of the Institute and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Karunesh Kumar Shukla to approve its course structure. After the course structure was prepared, the admission process for this course MTech in Defense Technology: Combat Vehicle Engineering has been started. Applications for admission in this two-year full time PG course of Mechanical Engineering Department can be made till August 1. The minimum eligibility for admission is BE and BTech degree.
GATE qualified and non GATE candidates can also take admission in this. For admission in this, one will have to pass the Institute Admission Test (IAT). After passing the IAT, the successful candidates will be interviewed on 9th August. The final selection will be done on this basis. After this, reporting for admission in NIT will have to be done from 17th August. Let us tell you that under this MTech course, students will be taught Specialization in Combat Vehicle Engineering. In this, the engineering of vehicles used in the battlefield for the army will be developed. Such engineering, which can benefit the army from the technology of vehicles in the war and the vehicles can prove to be more effective than before.
It is worth noting that for a long time preparations are going on in the area to set up a production unit based on defense technology in Jamshedpur Adityapur (JIADA area). Now starting this course in NIT Jamshedpur will facilitate in setting up an enterprise based on defense technology in Adityapur Jamshedpur.
