NCERT report card for classes 9-12 : The pattern of report cards for all classes is being changed. Now report cards will not be prepared on the basis of just marks and grades. Be it class 9 or class 12, report cards will now be prepared on the new pattern. A new holistic progress card has been released for classes 9 to 12 by the National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) body Parakh. Under the change, feedback from students, teachers, parents and co-students will also be included in the report card.

The focus of the holistic report card will now be more on learning than on the results based on numbers. This new plastic report card is being prepared on the advice of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education. Under this concept, students will now be able to be a part of the process of making the report card. The focus of the holistic report card will be on what and how much the children have learned in the entire year.

Holistic Progress Card by the Government of India is such an approach that will not only judge the students on the basis of marks but will also look at their skills and abilities. All the skills will be tested through activity based tests. Every student will be given marks after completing the activities.

How will the Holistic Progress Card be prepared?

Holistic progress card will be prepared in such a way that children can evaluate themselves. Holistic progress card will be prepared on parameters like time management, plans after school (in which children will tell what they are going to take the next step after school ends). Along with this, children will also have to discuss with their parents, teachers and classmates. Along with this, a section will also have to be completed in which they will also tell about their strengths and abilities, which will help them in post school plans. Along with this, students will also have to focus on challenges and improvements.

Along with this, teacher assessment, student's own feedback and feedback of fellow students will also be recorded in group project work. The main focus of the Holistic Progress Card will be to teach children the necessary skills along with knowledge. All this can be done through projects, own research and innovative activities in the class.
