NEET UG counselling 2024: The registration process for NEET UG counselling will begin tomorrow, August 14, 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct NEET UG counselling 2024 in four rounds. These rounds include All India Quota Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and an online stray vacancy round. Medical entrance exam NEET qualified students will be able to register for the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, BSc (Nursing) courses from tomorrow. Through counselling, admission will be done to about 1.10 lakh MBBS and 27,868 BDS seats in 710 medical colleges of the country. Through MCC counselling, admission will be done to 15 percent of All India quota seats and 100 percent seats of all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, 100 percent seats of all central universities and deemed universities. Counseling for admission to 85% seats in medical colleges of the state is being done there.
Important Dates
The registration window for MCC counseling round 1 will be open from August 14 to August 20 at 12 noon. Students can deposit the fee till 3 pm on August 20. Choice filling will start on August 16 and end on August 20 at 11:55 pm. Choice locking will be available from 4 pm to 11:55 pm on August 20. Participating institutes and National Medical Commission will verify the tentative seat matrix on August 14 and 15. The seat allotment process for round 1 will be held on August 21 and 22, the results of which will be declared on August 23. Candidates have to report to their allotted institutes between August 24 and 29.
Verification of seat matrix by institutes for the second round of NEET UG counselling will be done from September 4 to 5. The registration process will begin on September 5 and continue till September 10 (12 noon). Fee payment facility will be available till 3 pm on September 10. Choice filling will begin on September 6 and end on September 10 at 11.55 pm. Choice locking will be done on September 10 from 4 pm to 11.55 pm. The result of Round 2 seat allotment will be declared on September 13.

Explaining the NEET UG counselling 2024 process, the Centre had told the Supreme Court that students will be allowed to change seats as per the preferences chosen by them in the first and second rounds. In such a situation, if seats are cancelled before the third round, it will not have any effect on the overall counselling and seat allotment. The third round of NEET counselling is expected to begin in the second week of September. Even if the candidature is cancelled after the third round, the vacant seats can also be offered in subsequent rounds. However, candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round will not be able to participate in the subsequent rounds. In the third case, if any candidature is cancelled after the fourth and final round, the vacant seats will be filled with an additional round based on the approval of the Supreme Court.
