When the result of NEET UG exam was declared on 4th June, Rishabh, a class 12 student from Ahmedabad, was overjoyed. Rishabh, who scored 720 out of 720 marks, was one of the 67 students who topped the medical entrance exam NEET across the country. But on 26th July, this promising student's dream of doing MBBS from AIIMS Delhi was shattered. Due to a controversial question, Rishabh's score dropped from 720 to 715. With just 5 marks less, he is no longer even in the list of top 50 students of NEET. After getting 80th rank in the revised result of NEET, Rishabh now wants to do MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur or BJ Medical College.
According to the report of Ahmedabad Mirror, Rishabh says, 'I was very satisfied after getting 720 out of 720 marks. I was feeling proud. But after two months, I am disappointed. All my friends from non-medical stream have started studying and the students who are giving NEET are still in a state of uncertainty regarding the admission process. What is the fault of us honest students behind this delay?'
Apart from Rishabh, there are three more students from Gujarat who were NEET toppers earlier but now they are not even in the top 50 list. That means these four NEET toppers from Gujarat who got 720 out of 720 marks are out of the list of top 50 toppers. Ved Patel, Darsh Paghdar and Kriti Sharma had topped by scoring 720 out of 720 marks but now the rank of these three has also dropped badly. Dev is now ranked 63, Kriti is 68 and Darsh is 74th.
Ved said, 'However, I did not expect a perfect score from the beginning. I was expecting a score of 715. This is my revised score now. But circumstances arose which were not expected. But ultimately, the Supreme Court's decision gave the right to those who gave the right answers. It took me some time to come to terms with this shock but in the end, no injustice was done to anyone.'
Neha Desai, teacher of Darsh who hails from Rajkot, said, 'Darsh is a promising student. His target was Delhi AIIMS. However, he will not get it with the revised marks and rank. So now he is looking towards Jodhpur AIIMS. Darsh was very disappointed after the revised result but then we explained it to him.'
The final results of the medical entrance exam NEET-UG, which is surrounded by controversies, were declared on Friday. In these results, which were re-issued after the Supreme Court's direction, the number of toppers has come down to 17, whereas earlier this number was 67. The change in ranking has affected 4 lakh 20 thousand students. Apart from this, the names of those students, who were accused of rigging in the exam, have also been removed from the list. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the apex court had rejected the petitions requesting to cancel and re-conduct this exam.
NEET: First passed, now failed; dreams shattered due to revised NEET result, will not be able to do MBBS even from abroad
This is how the number decreased: There were 67 toppers in the first declared result. Six of them were removed from the topper list after removing the grace marks. At the same time, 44 more students who had scored 720 were out of the list due to wrong answer to a question. In the re-released result, their marks have now become 715. The names of Mridul Manya Anand and Divyansh of Delhi are included in the topper list. At the same time, Ayush Naugariya and Aryan Yadav of UP have also achieved this position. Apart from these, Mansoor of Bihar, Prachita and Saurav of Rajasthan, Gunmay Garg of Punjab, Arghyadip Dutta of West Bengal, Shubhan Sengupta, Palansha Agarwal and Mane Neha Kuldeep of Maharashtra, Rajneesh P of Tamil Nadu, Srinand Sharmil of Kerala etc. are also included in the topper list. All of them have scored 720 marks.
