The Supreme Court today heard petitions for cancellation and re-examination of NEET-UG 2024. During the hearing, the NTA informed the court that the scores of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates have been invalidated. The NTA also informed that the re-examination for these candidates will be held on June 23, the result and counseling of which are expected by June 30. In the hearing held in the court today, there were three petitions seeking cancellation of NEET UG 2024 exam and re-examination due to alleged discrepancies in giving grace marks. Let us tell you that the court has also made it clear that only the NEET exam of the candidates getting grace marks will be conducted again.
Soon notice, giving re-exam is optional
It is being said that NTA can issue a notification for this as soon as possible. Students should also be informed that re-examination is optional. The exam authority has made it clear that for those who do not want to give the re-test, their previous marks will be considered, but grace marks will not be added to them.
What was the reaction of the Education Minister
After the NTA's decision on the grace marks in the NEET result, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's statement has also come out. He said that we have presented our side in the court. No evidence of NEET exam leak has been found. He said that there has been no corruption in the NEET exam. 24 lakh students have appeared in the NEET exam this year. The hearing is going on in the Supreme Court and this case is related to about 1,500 students. The government is ready to answer the court. NTA conducts the country's three major examinations JEE, NEET and CUET. Action will be taken against those who are responsible for this.
