NEET UG 2024: This year, about 21 lakh children who dream of becoming doctors will appear for the medical entrance exam NEET. But since there are only 1.09 lakh MBBS seats in the country, very few percentage of students will be able to fulfill their dream. That means there are around 19 contenders for each MBBS seat. This situation is seen every year. As a result, many children either drop their exam and start preparing for the second attempt. Or look for MBBS from abroad. Many students are satisfied with other career options like BDS, B.Sc Nursing, BMS, BHS. Here we are sharing the story of a student who did not give up after her first failure in NEET and secured her MBBS seat by securing an excellent NEET score in the second attempt.

Aditi Priya is currently pursuing MBBS from the prestigious University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Aditi had got 427 marks in her first attempt of NEET. He dropped the year and got admission in a renowned medical college by scoring 634 marks in the second attempt. He has shared his journey from 427 to 634 marks.

Speaking on Josh Talks, she said, 'I always wanted to become a doctor like my grandfather. But this journey was not at all easy for me. I appeared for NEET UG in 2021 in my first attempt but failed miserably. Then I did a year drop and dedicatedly prepared for NEET for a year. From 427 in NEET UG 2021, I managed to score 634 marks in 2022.

NEET: So many NEET forms came that last year's strong record was also broken, but MBBS seats are very less.

He said, 'I started preparing for the medical entrance exam after finishing my 10th class exams. However, my first attempt at NEET went poorly. Then I started focusing again on all the shortcomings in my next attempt. I made small notes for every subject of NEET. My NEET scores improved in my second attempt only because of the short notes I made. I also used to write down important points and keep repeating them. I focused more on NCERT books and read them thoroughly. After completion of the syllabus, I started giving mock tests. Instead of giving online mock tests, I relied on giving mock tests in offline mode as the actual NEET Pen is conducted as a paper based exam. During this time, I analyzed my mistakes in mock tests and also made a mistake book. I would watch and check what mistakes I made in my previous test and ensure that I do not repeat the same mistakes.

He said, 'It does not matter which exam we take – NEET or any other, it is very important to focus on the goal. You will meet many people who will lead you astray. But you should not deviate from your goal and move ahead. Examination day is very important for everyone. Don't panic if you don't understand a question. This can spoil your entire exam.
