Rajasthan is at number three. Out of a total of 113 colleges, 12 medical colleges will be opened here. The Undergraduate Medical Education Board and NMC have approved new medical colleges with the aim of increasing ABBS seats.
How many government colleges
Out of the new 113 MBBS medical colleges, 50 colleges will be government colleges. The remaining colleges will either be private or deemed medical colleges. It was already said in this regard that the guideline of 100 MBBS seats per population of 10 lakh will be followed from the academic year 2025-26.
The announcement was made on the official website
NMC has announced this on its official website. The commission has said that they have sent the news directly to the medical institutions through email in this regard. These are the medical institutions that had applied. After receiving the email, these institutions will have to take necessary steps in this regard within the stipulated time.
The shortage of healthcare professionals will be met
This step of NMC will not only provide more seats to MBBS students but will also address the shortage of health care professionals in the country. Let us tell you that on April 3, the Medical Assessment and Roting Board had invited applications for new undergraduate medical colleges. For this, NMC's approval was also required, which has now been received.
Medical colleges will be set up in UP on this basis
Let us tell you that the Uttar Pradesh Medical Education Department had decided in 2021 that medical colleges here will be based on the Public-Private Partnership i.e. PPP Model. Under this, already running private medical colleges will also be linked with government district hospitals. This will happen under public-private partnership.
