Preparations are underway for changes in PhD Viva in BRABU, Muzaffarpur. The university administration is considering that the format of viva should be comprehensive. Now in Viva, research students will have to give information about their thesis by making PPT. BRABU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai told that we are thinking of changing the way of conducting PhD Viva. The Vice Chancellor will also participate in the viva along with department heads, experts and guides. Preparations for taking PhD viva are going on under the direction of the Vice Chancellor. People associated with the university said that till now the viva after research was held in PG departments, but now the university administration is considering that the viva of all the subjects should be held at one place.
For this, work is going on to prepare a room in the Academic Staff College. It is expected that whatever PhD Viva will be held from the new session will be held at this place. This step is being taken to bring quality in research. This will be the first time in BRABU that the Vice Chancellor himself will be present in the viva. Technology will also be used in this. The Vice-Chancellor may also ask the student questions about his or her thesis. Till now only experts used to ask questions to students in viva. University sources said that till now the viva has been conducted in a very formal manner, but now efforts are being made to change it.
Bihar University will make DG Locker itself
BRABU itself will prepare Digi Locker for the students and upload the certificates in it. The university has not given work to the agency for this. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai told on Thursday that the agency had demanded Rs 9 85 paise for a certificate. Due to this, Rs 10 lakh would have been spent on DG Locker. Therefore, we have thought that the university itself will do the work of DG Locker. This will save money for the university. BRABU will prepare DG locker under BHU model. Recently, in the examination board meeting, the university had passed a proposal to keep all the certificates in the DG locker. For the first time in BRABU, degrees and certificates of students will be online. This will benefit the students as their certificate will not get lost anywhere and there will be no need to carry it with them. Students in any other institute will also be able to show their degrees and certificates through DG Locker. The Vice Chancellor said that his job is to save money for the university.
