National Board of Medical Examination (NBEMS) Chairman Dr Abhijat Sheth said on Thursday that private entrepreneurial institutions have not been included for NEET-PG 2024 centers for better monitoring. To eliminate the possibility of any kind of malpractice, the exam will be held in two shifts on August 11. Earlier this exam was held in a single shift. Dr Sheth said that admit cards for the exam have been issued. The NBEMS president said that the purpose behind conducting the exam in two shifts is to ensure that the candidates do not have to travel too far to the examination centers.
He said that examination centers have been set up in the same state as per the address given by the candidates while filling the form. Dr. Sheth said that 90 percent of the students have been allotted examination centers within the state of their correspondence address. The remaining students have been allotted centers in nearby states due to the limit of seats in their correspondence state. He said that the NEET-PG exam will be held at 416 examination centers in 170 cities. 2,28,542 candidates will appear in it. NBEMS on Wednesday rejected the claims of some agents on 'X' who said that they have received the question papers of 2024 NEET-PG exam. NBEMS said, it has lodged a police complaint in this matter.
Trust on AICTE and TCS centers
The NBEMS chief said that we are taking better measures to prevent any kind of malpractices in the examination. He said that this time Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is relying on ION centers and institutions affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to conduct the examination. He said, the centers which were classified as high risk by TCS on the basis of investigation have been removed from the list.
