Uttar Pradesh Revenue Council is going to include three more sub categories of disabled people in Lekhpal recruitment. Reservation in recruitment will be given to candidates with one arm or one leg and those with dwarfism. The Revenue Council has sent a proposal in this regard to the government. After approval from there, the proposal for recruitment to about 5300 posts will be sent to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
Earlier the Revenue Council had sent the proposal for recruitment to 4700 posts of Accountant to the Subordinate Services Selection Commission. Only four categories of disabled people were included in this. There was mention of providing reservation benefits to the hearing impaired, those undergoing treatment for leprosy, acid attack victims and those with more than one disability. The status of other categories was not clarified.
The Subordinate Services Selection Commission, while noting the flaws found in the recruitment proposal, had returned it to the Revenue Council and asked it to clarify the position regarding the categories fixed for the disabled. The Revenue Council had sought opinion on this from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities on the basis of the proposal sent back by the Subordinate Services Selection Commission. In this, while clarifying the status of reservation, it was said that there is a provision of four percent reservation for them in the recruitments.
