In the popular QS World University Rankings-2025, the country's leading technical institutes IIT Bombay and Delhi have been included in the top 150 list. Apart from this, DU has topped the Central University. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi have performed better than last time. While IIT Bombay has climbed 31 ranks from last year's 149th position to 118th position, IIT Delhi has improved its rank by 47 points and has secured 150th position globally. Let us tell you that America's Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has retained the top position globally for the 13th time.
DU has topped the list of Central Universities in QS World University Rankings-2025. Delhi University has secured 328th rank in this ranking. Last year, DU had secured 407th rank. Jawaharlal Nehru University has been ranked 580th in this ranking. On the ranking, DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that among the top 10 educational institutions of India, DU has made the most progress by rising 79 ranks. This time, DU has secured its place in the top 22 percent in the QS World University Rankings.
Better at enabling
– According to the rankings published by London-based higher education analyst Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), DU excels in making its students employable. It is ranked 44th in this category.
– The country's employment outcome figure is 10 points below the global average of 23.8. This highlights the need to bridge the skills gap of graduates and create more opportunities for new graduates.
10 Indian universities in top 400
46 universities of the country have found a place in this edition of the ranking. However, 10 universities of India have found a place in the top 400. The Indian higher education system is ranked seventh globally and third in Asia. Japan ranks first and China second in the higher education system in Asia.

IPU secured place in 1001 to 1200 category
Delhi Government's Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has secured its place in the 1001 to 1200 category in the Ranking-2025. Earlier last year, IPU had secured a place in the 1401+ category in this ranking. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena congratulated IPU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahesh Verma and his team on the performance of the university. The Vice Chancellor said that IPU has also been awarded the Rising Star Award.
