Education Qualification
Eligible candidates must have passed 10th class under 10+2 education system with at least 50% aggregate marks for the posts of Fitter, Welder. At the same time, eligible candidates for the post of Medical Laboratory Technician must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 education system with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (with minimum 50% aggregate marks).

Candidates who want to apply for Southern Railway Apprentice post should be at least 15 years of age. At the same time, the age of freshers/E-ITI, MLT should not be more than 22/24 years. The upper age can be relaxed by 3 years for OBC category people, 10 years for handicapped candidates (PwBD) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

For preparing the merit list and selecting the eligible candidates, average of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination will be taken giving equal weightage to both.
Processing Fees
SC/ST/PWBD and Women candidates do not have to pay any application fee for this vacancy of South Railway. Processing fee of ₹100/- + applicable service charges (non-refundable) is to be paid through online mode.
