Employment fairs which were affected in Uttarakhand due to the code of conduct for about three months will now start from June 15. The Directorate of Training and Employment has prepared a plan to organize employment fairs in 23 places in all 13 districts. Assistant Director Mamta Chauhan Negi said that orders have been issued to all district level officers of the Employment Department in this regard on Friday. The number of unemployed in Uttarakhand is about 8 lakh right now. To provide employment to these unemployed skilled and unskilled youth in industries, the Directorate of Training and Employment organizes employment fairs from time to time, but these fairs could not be organized due to the implementation of the code of conduct from March for the Lok Sabha elections. However, now employment fairs will be organized again from June 15.
More unemployed people between 20 and 30 years of age
According to the data of Directorate of Employment, currently around 8 lakh youth are unemployed in the state. Most of them are between 20 and 30 years of age. In employment fairs, these youth are provided jobs in government, public and private companies on the basis of their educational qualification.
Special plan for young ladies
This time a special plan is being prepared to provide employment to ITI pass girls in the job fairs. Officials said that some companies in the state's SIDCUL have a demand for girls who have done ITI courses like dress making, swing technology, fashion designing, information communication, computer operator. These companies are also being invited to the fair.
All the officers have been instructed to organize job fairs from June 15. The focus will be on inviting maximum number of youth to the fairs. Talks are being held with many big companies to come to the fair. – Sanjay Kumar, Director, Directorate of Training and Employment, Haldwani
LIC, Bajaj and Apollo companies will come
This time big companies like LIC, Bajaj Apollo, Maruti will also come to the job fair. Letters have been sent to these companies by the directorate. In the past years, the youth of the state have got employment in these companies. This time there is a plan to call more than 60 industrial units in these fairs.
