RRB JE Vacancy: Railway Recruitment Board has released recruitment for 7951 posts of Junior Engineer. The process of online application for RRB JE recruitment will start from 30 July 2024. The vacant posts include 7934 vacancies of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant for various Railway Recruitment Boards. Apart from this, there are 17 vacancies of Chemical Supervisor / Research and Metallurgical Supervisor / Research for Gorakhpur RRB. The last date to apply for this recruitment has been fixed as 29 August 2024. The last date for fee payment is also 29 August. Earlier, RRB had released bumper recruitment of JE in 2019. Then recruitment was done for 14059 posts of JE, whereas this time 7951 vacancies have been released. This time due to the Kovid epidemic, the candidates have been given a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit. Age will be calculated from January 1, 2025.

Educational qualification – For most of the posts, Engineering Diploma/Degree or B.Sc qualification is required. For more information related to eligibility, you can see the notification. For Junior Engineer IT posts, BCA and PGDCA and DOEACC B level three year course holders are also eligible.

Age Limit: 18 – 36 years. SC and ST category will get five years relaxation in maximum age limit and OBC will get three years relaxation.

Selection Process – First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Document Verification and Medical. There will be negative marking of one-third marks for wrong answers in CBT. Duration of CBT 1 exam is 90 minutes and duration of CBT 2 exam is 120 minutes. CBT 1 will have 100 questions and CBT 2 will have 150 questions.

Application fee
The application fee for general category applicants is Rs 500, out of which Rs 400 will be refunded to the applicants on appearing in the exam. The application fee for SC/ST, women and physically handicapped, economically weaker sections and ex-servicemen is Rs 250. The entire amount of the fee will be refunded to these applicants on appearing in the exam.
