14756 fresh and renewal applications of National Income and Merit Based Scholarship Examination are stuck at the Institute Nodal Officer (Principal) and District Nodal Officer (District School Inspector) level at the school level. In a letter sent on October 16 by the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Education, instructions have been given to complete the applications pending on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by October 31. Usha Chandra, director of the psychology school, has written a letter in this regard to all the DIOS on October 18.
In the examination for the session 2024-25, 14896 meritorious candidates were successful against the 15143 seats earmarked for Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, the applications of 10607 meritorious students are currently being processed. 4271 applications have been verified but 1740 from school level and 4564 from DIOS level, a total of 6,304 are yet to be verified. Similarly, action is currently underway on 14406 successful and renewal applications in 2023-24, 2022-23 and 2021-22.
Of these, 4471 have been verified but 2429 at the school level and 6023 at the DIOS level, a total of 8,452 are yet to be verified. It is noteworthy that the Education Ministry has started verification through bio-authentication since last year. One thousand per month or Rs. 12 thousand per year is given for studies from class 9 to 12.
