Primary teachers with B.Ed degree will lose their jobs in Madhya Pradesh. The recruitment of 341 teachers who became primary teachers on the basis of B.Ed degree will be cancelled. The Directorate of Public Instruction, Bhopal, under the Ministry of School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has issued an order in this regard. This order of the department will be applicable to teachers recruited on and after 11 August 2023. The department has also clarified that if the qualification of a teacher is B.Ed and D.Ed is written in the record by mistake, then the appointment of such a teacher will also be cancelled. Its list has also been sent to the District Education Officers. The list has also been issued to the DEOs of 25 districts.
Earlier, the High Court had issued an order on May 3, 2024, saying that only B.Ed candidates recruited before August 11, 2023 would be considered valid for primary teacher recruitment. After this, the appointment of primary teachers with B.Ed qualification appointed on or after August 11, 2023 will not be valid.
Teacher recruitment qualification will change in 6 years, 4 years BEd ITEP will run
The Supreme Court had said in its decision of August 11, 2023 that only BTC (D.El.Ed) diploma holders would be eligible to teach primary classes. B.Ed candidates will not be able to apply in Level-1 (from class 1st to 5th). The bench had also rejected the gazette notification of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) in which B.Ed degree holders were declared eligible for Level-1 teacher recruitment. In this notification of NCTE, it was said that if B.Ed degree holders pass in Level-1, then they will have to do a six-month bridge course after appointment.
Before MP, B.Ed degree holders selected in Chhattisgarh teacher recruitment have also been excluded from primary teacher recruitment.
