The computer-based examination of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier-One 2024 by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) started on Monday. This examination, which will run till September 26, is being conducted in three shifts in 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar under the SSC Central Region. 8,81,582 candidates are registered for the computer-based examination of Tier-One at 89 centers in both the states. Out of 72069 registered candidates on the first day, 39503 (54.81 percent) appeared. Out of 49625 candidates in UP, 26637 (53.68 percent) appeared while out of 22446 registered candidates in Bihar, 12866 (57.32 percent) appeared. The examination is being held in shifts from 9 am to 10 am, 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm and 4 pm to 5 pm.
Prayagraj had the highest attendance
Among the 18 cities, Prayagraj had the highest number of candidates appearing for the CGL Tier-1 exam on Monday. Out of 7596 registered candidates in Prayagraj, 4514 (59.43 percent) appeared. After that, 1099 out of 1860 (59.09 percent) appeared in Bhagalpur while 946 out of 1620 candidates (58.40 percent) appeared in Jhansi.
SSC CGL Tier-1 exam is being held from 9 September to 26 September. Online applications were accepted from 24 June to 27 July for recruitment to 17,727 CGL posts. Through this exam, selection will be done for Group B and C posts in central government departments. About 30 lakh youth from all over the country have applied for this recruitment.
