UGC NET Exam City: National Testing Agency has released the exam city slip of UGC NET exam. Candidates can check on which date and in which city their exam is by visiting ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Admit cards will be issued later. UGC NET exam will be conducted on June 18, 2024. The exam will be held in the morning shift from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and in the second shift from 3 pm to 6 pm. The exam will be in pen paper mode in 83 subjects. Let us tell you that UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year for Junior Professor Fellowship and Assistant Professor in universities and other higher education institutions across the country. This time UGC NET score will be accepted as entrance in PhD.

UGC NET score will allow you to take admission in PhD
UGC NET 2024 score can be used for admission to PhD degree courses in place of entrance examinations conducted by various universities and higher educational institutions.

Students will be divided into these three categories based on their performance in the UGC NET exam. UGC NET students will be eligible in the following 3 categories-
Category 1 will include candidates who are eligible for all three purposes: admission to PhD, JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor.
Category 2 will include candidates who are eligible for admission to PhD and appointment as Assistant Professor.
Candidates in Category 3 will be eligible for admission only to PhD.
For PhD admission, the NET scores obtained by the candidates in Category 2 and 3 will be valid for a period of one year.

Minimum Passing Marks
Unreserved category – 40 percent
Reserved category – 35 percent

In UGC NET, candidates have to pass each paper separately. In Paper 1, unreserved category candidates have to score 40 marks out of 100, while reserved category candidates have to score 35 marks out of 100. In Paper 2, unreserved candidates have to score 70-75 marks out of 200 while the minimum marks for candidates belonging to OBC and EWS categories will be 65 to 70, for SC it is 60 to 65 and for ST it is 55 to 60.
