UGC NET Exam Postponed 2024: University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadish Kumar announced that the date of UGC NET exam, which is scheduled to clash with UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024, has now been postponed. UGC NET exam will be conducted on June 18, 2024. Let us tell you, the date of Civil Services preliminary examination of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and UG NET examination was fixed on the same day i.e. 16th June. Due to the same date of both the exams, students were confused as to which exam to take. However, now students are happy with this decision from UGC.
Posting on social media platform It has been decided to postpone till Tuesday. NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR mode across India in a single day. NTA will soon issue a formal notification related to the exam.
Let us tell you, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had sent a letter to NTA and UGC requesting them to change the date of UGC NET exam to be held on June 16, 2024.
NTA had issued the notice on 20 April 2024. In which it was told that the application process for UGC-NET June 2024 has been started from 20th April and the examination is to be conducted on 16th June 2024. While issuing the notice on March 19 before UGC NET, UPSC had said that the preliminary examination of Civil Services will be conducted on June 16. When UGC announced the NET exam date, candidates were in a dilemma when they came to know that UGC NET and UPSC preliminary exam will be conducted on the same day. However, now UGC has removed the problems of the candidates and those candidates who want to appear in both the examinations (UGC NET and UPSC Pre) can do so.
