The Supreme Court has recently taken an important decision in the case related to the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The court has currently stayed the order of the Allahabad High Court, in which the state government was directed to cancel the merit list of this recruitment and prepare a new list in three months. The Supreme Court has imposed this stay till September 25. Also, the Uttar Pradesh government and the parties in the High Court have been issued notices and directed to file their written reply in a maximum of seven pages.
This case is related to the issues raised regarding reservation, which put the jobs of thousands of candidates in jeopardy. In its decision, the Allahabad High Court declared the merit list illegal on the basis of not properly implementing the rules of reservation in the recruitment process. After this, the High Court ordered the state government to prepare a new merit list, due to which the jobs of thousands of candidates were in danger.

Is the job at risk?
After the decision of Allahabad High Court, there was doubt in the minds of the working teachers whether they could lose their jobs. The High Court had found irregularities in the recruitment process regarding reservation, which was likely to have a direct impact on the selected candidates of the general category. They were afraid of being left out after the release of the new merit list.
However, the selected candidates have got some relief after the Supreme Court put a stay on the merit list. They are hopeful that the Supreme Court's decision may be in their favor, which will keep their jobs safe. But the final decision is yet to come, so the situation is not completely clear.

What will happen next?
The next hearing of the Supreme Court will be on September 23, in which this matter will be considered in depth. If the Supreme Court is not satisfied with the reservation rules and merit list, then there can be relief news for the teachers currently working. The Allahabad High Court had already made it clear that no existing teacher will lose his job in this academic session, so that the studies of the students are not affected. Now all eyes are on the Supreme Court hearing, which will decide whether there will be a change in the 69,000 assistant teacher recruitment process or the jobs of the candidates will remain safe.
