The process of NEET UG counseling for admission in medical and dental colleges of Uttar Pradesh will start from July 6. Through UP NEET counseling, admission will be done on 9278 MBBS seats and 2270 BDS seats of the state. These admissions will be done in 64 colleges of the state. NEET coordinator Avni Kamal has said that about 7 lakh students can usually apply for UP NEET counseling. During counseling, the process of document verification will be conducted at 20 centers of the state. It is worth noting that the Supreme Court has refused several times to ban the counseling of medical entrance exam NEET. The counseling authority of the states will conduct counseling for 85 percent state quota seats as per their rules. The counseling authority of the same state will also conduct the counseling of private medical colleges.

– 100% seats of all AIIMS will be filled through MCC counseling. Apart from this
MCC will conduct counselling for 100% seats of Central Universities – BHU, AMU, Jamia.
– 100% seats in both the JIPMER campuses, Puducherry and Karaikal, will be filled through MSC counselling only.
– – Apart from 15 percent AIQ of DU quota (Delhi quota), counselling for 85 percent state quota seats is also conducted by MCC.

Apart from these, MCC also conducts counselling for 15 per cent seats of All India Quota in medical colleges located in various states.
– The counselling authority of the respective states will conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats as per their rules. The counselling for private medical colleges will also be conducted by the counselling authority of the same state.
NTA officials accused of rigging
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an inquiry into the involvement of National Testing Agency (NTA) officials in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 conducted for admission to MBBS and other undergraduate level medical courses. The petition alleges that apart from other irregularities in NEET-UG 2024, NTA officials have been involved in tampering with the OMR sheets.
