UPSC CSE 2024: UPSC has extended the last date for application for Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 by one day. Earlier, applications could be made only till March 5, but now applications can be made till March 6 till 6 pm. UPSC took this decision after the candidates requested to extend the last date. On the last date of March 5, candidates were continuously demanding extension of the last date on social media. He said that for the last two-three years, UPSC's OTR system has been hanging due to heavy traffic. Due to technical problem they are not able to apply, hence the date should be extended. He was continuously tweeting with the hash tags #UPSC_DATE_EXTENT_KRO and #UPSCPrelims2024.
Apart from this, candidates of UPSC Civil Services Examination will be able to make corrections in their application form between March 6 and March 12. They can also make corrections in their various details and photo and signature photo by visiting www.upsconline.nic.in.
This time 1056 vacancies have been released. Youth who want to join various civil services including IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS can apply for this examination. UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 will be held on 26 May 2024. This time also the policy of first apply first allot has been implemented for UPSC exam centre. That means, the earlier you apply, the more chances you have of getting your desired exam center city.
Through this examination (UPSC CSE Notification 2024), officers will be selected for other all India services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). To appear in the main examination of Indian Forest Service examination, one has to pass UPSC Civil Services Prelims. That means the prelims exam of both the competitive exams will be common.
Selection Process
All applicants for UPSC Civil Services Examination have to first appear in the Prelims Exam. The candidates who pass this are called to appear in the mains exam. Those who pass Mains proceed to the Interview (Personality Test). The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in interview and mains exam. Mains exam is of 1750 marks and interview is of 275 marks.
UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam will be held in 80 cities.
