UPSC CSE Prelims: Union Coal and Mines Minister Kishan Reddy launched the Utkrishta Pahal (Nirman) portal to reward the candidates of UPSC Civil Services Main Examination in New Delhi. This scheme has been started in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mission Karmayogi. Meritorious youth of the districts where Coal India Limited operates its activities will get the benefit of this scheme. The youth who pass the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 will get the benefit of this CSR scheme.

The scheme aims to provide assistance of Rs. 1,00,000/- (one lakh rupees) to those candidates who qualify the preliminary examination, whose annual family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs and who belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Women or Third Gender. Permanent residents of the 39 districts where CIL operates will be eligible for this scheme.

The Union Public Service Commission released the result of the Civil Service Prelims on Monday. The result was released on the official website of the commission upsc.gov.in. The result contains the roll numbers of 14,430 shortlisted candidates. Candidates who have passed the prelims exam will now have to apply for the mains exam. The application form for the mains will be released on upsc.gov.in by next week. According to the UPSC calendar, the Civil Service Mains exam is to be held on September 20.

There will be recruitment for 1056 posts
This year UPSC has conducted the exam to fill 1,056 civil service posts. Candidates will get appointment in different departments including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS) according to their rank.
